I wasted several hours playing around with this site; below is Jacob's field from outer space....

maps.google.com has the same feature for most areas (the resolution is more or less depending on what you are looking at). Enter an address and then change to "satellite" on the left of the screen.

the images are better but the marks they put all over the photos make it almost worthless for me.

Do you think they put those marks there for copyright purposes?

I did my address, and could see not only my house, but my whole block. But, as you said, those marks make the pic worthless.

Gary,

I got a huge kick out of that! Thank you so much for the link. My daughter thought it was the coolest thing she'd ever seen.

Gives new meaning to "Big Brother" huh? These have been out for a while. Some of the sattelites are decommissioned military sattelites that used to have the best technology in the world. Some could even read the date off a dime in the palm of your hand. Pretty kewl, and also pretty scary.

Okay, you guys are the best... I can see I'm going to be spending a ridiculous amount of time I should use for practice on this. Many thanks!
