I saw that on TV, showed the tuners moving themselves, Wow, that thing must be really out of tune I thought.

But everything is improved by making it more complicated and if possible, robotized. Everything. It's the way to the Future! (insert clip from The Aviator where H. Hughes keeps repeating "the way of the future...." ad nauseum because of his OCD.)

They come in two models, rolling and walking.

Re: Self-Tuning Guitar

All that robot has to do is emit the notes from its speaker (where the mouth is) and apply that to the trumpet MP and yeah, it's playing. Correlate that with the proper valves down of course.

It's a bit more modern, but essentially it's like a player piano and about as creative.

"Toyota developed artificial lips that move with the same finesse as human lips, which, together with robots` hands, enables the robots to play trumpets like humans do."

Interesting to know how they modeled the lip action, all the same.

Re: Self-Tuning Guitar

As for the guitar, I find Fender's new VG strat to be much cooler - my husband's a guitarist and I got to see both guitars in action. The Fender makes a lot more sense, even though you do have to do the initial tuning yourself, god forbid! As for Toyota's venture, I say the same thing I've said about our government grilling baseball players about steroids - don't they have anything better to do?
