Yes....

There was this lecture I had to listen to in first year University..................

That was 41 years ago..... I'd almost managed to forget it until you mentioned it.

If you were scoring exams, your sensory deprivation chamber was of a different kind. In this one you float in about 10 inches of heavy Epsom salt water, it's dark and quiet. http://www.samadhitank.com/index.html
