Horn of Praise

A while back, in another thread, I posted some comments about cleaning record albums "on the cheap". "Wet" cleaning albums can remove many pops and some skips, but not all.

As an example, I have a copy of Maynard Ferguson's "Carnival". When I first "found" it a couple months ago for $3, it had at least a half dozen skips on side two, four of which were in the track "Baker Street". Well, I didn't give up on the album. I bought a record cleaning brush with a bottle of solution included ($10 at Radio Shack) and cleaned/brushed the record after each time I played it. After about twenty (20) plays/cleanings all of the skips are gone.

It can take quite a while for the deeply imbedded dirt to work its way out, but it does work. I hope this helps. Be well.
