So i was at the range today....

Bills gun shop in Robbinsdale, MN.

A place where you can meet some interesting folks.

I walk in to the range and lo and behold, I see the back of someone's head.

Gosh, that bald spot looks familiar.....

It appears the person is shooting a Springfield XD...he's got good taste in guns at least.

Wow, who woulda thought???

And he's a crack shot too!

This guy can shoot like he plays the trumpet!!!

This guy from night of the living dead will never walk the same...

It was fun man, we'll have to do it again.

For a guy who's been shooting once prior to this, Manny is a hecakva shot.

Re: So i was at the range today....

Welll, THAT was one heckuvan experience.

First and foremost, 40cal is a terrific instructor. From gently reminding me to:

keep the weapon facing the target area at all times to

keeping my finger OFF the trigger until I have the target in my sites and to

not anticipate the recoil and one hundred other things.

Secondly, if you happen to be involved in law enforcement my hat and bald spot are off to you. We do our best to remember and pray for our military but there's a contingent of very brave people that put their lives on the line every single day and night on our behalf that we don't recognize enough and that's our civilian Police Officers and State Troopers. Between our military and our officers, we're in good hands and I can't thank you folks enough for the job you do. handling the variety of weapons I did today made me realize the danger you're in every day. Thank you.

It's a very valuable experience and I can safely say that the next time you read about what is made out to be a bad shooting you should ignore the ignorance of people that say "Why didn't he shoot to wound? Why didn't he shoot the gun out of his hand?" Movies and TV have done a painfully good job of making gunplay look like childsplay. It's a very serious thing and if you have the opportunity to go shooting at a range with a professional law officer, take it. If you've never held a handgun you become extremely humble rather quickly.

Thanks for posting the photos, 40cal. I look forward to the next time, whenever that is.

Oh thanks! I was noticing how yellow the eyes were. We see quite a bit of that down here at the mission, you know.

Re: So i was at the range today....

Does the octav-eye-zer help here too?

The gentle reminders apply to the trumpet too!

keep the weapon facing the target area at all times too

keeping the lips off of the mouthpiece until I have the target in my sites and to

not anticipate the recoil and one hundred other things.
