Sopran saxophone

Hi I was thinking to take on sopran saxophon in addition to instruments that I'm already playing (piano, trumpet)

But I am concerned how will it interfere with my trumpet techique. Can I ruin my trumpet technique if I play sopran saxophon (or any other saxophone and simmilar instrument like clarinet), because those instruments have completely different MPC and the whole approach is different, mpc goes into the mouth and there is no buzz (or is there, I wouldnt know because I never even tried it, I do not even know the theory, it is completely new world to me to be discovered, thats why it is so tempting)

thank you, bye

Re: Sopran saxophone

It may or may not interfere with your trumpet technique; however, I've found trying to play or practice my cornet then trying to go straight to practicing my clarinet (or sax) can be problematic. I need some space (time) in between since the embouchure techniques are so different between the brass and woodwind. Anybody playing both (trumpet and sax/clarinet) in the same ensemble?
