You have a sitting judge who doesn't believe in the value of extended punishment and incarceration.

Pat Leahy and Howard Dean aren't extended punishment?

I wonder if the judge would feel differently if his daughter had been raped repeatedly over the course of 4 yrs.

The judge needs to be removed from the bench, and decisions like this are what spark the mandatory minimum sentences that judges seem to dislike

I get it. He doesn't believe in punishment. What about protecting that little girl and all others he may come in contact with? People like that don't change.

What about the punishment he gave that girl and her family and future spouse for the rest of their lives?

i see the judge's point (puts on welders mask and armor to protect againts flaming) but i think he took it a little too far.
