Spring in full swing

The Dogwoods are just gorgeous down here. As the flower buds open, they look like a tree covered in hundreds of white butterflies. These are just the trees around my house. The neighborhood is flora maximus - pear, Japanese maples, cherry trees, dogwoods, red buds (which are really purple) are all in full bloom. Gorgeous on the eyes, but killer on the sinuses.

When all of the Azaleas open in front of the house, I will take another picture.

Happy Spring Everyone!!!

Re: Spring in full swing

Nice lawn/grounds! In boston that would cost WAY too much. Even in my town Salem (an up and coming suburb that's rich in history). My wife and I are looking for places closer to town for her commute.

Anyone have 600,000 we (an archivist and a jazz trumpeter) could borrow? .

Don't forget to show everyone that OTHER picture...with your car coated in yellow dust and the dead asthmatics being buried in mass graves in Marietta.

Hey Stuart, I almost included a picture of my car! It is usually midnight blue, but every day, before I hose it off, it is a neon green color because of the thick, dusty, yellow layer. I also have a tin roof over the carport and the usually silver roof is bright yellow. We need rain soooooo badly. The downside....the rain always knocks the flowers off prematurely.

Thanks everyone for the compliments on the house. It's just a log house, but there is something special about them. I do enjoy mine very much and the gardening that has managed to hold out over the years. I don't do nearly as much of that as I used to because I am away too often to watch over the annuals. The Clematis vines, Jasmine, Wysteria and Chaste trees have all thrived here. They were planted with love and care and return the favor by filling the air with perfume summer after summer.

Hey Trent, even if I wanted to move, I couldn't afford anything around here ever again. I luckily got in under the boom with this place. My neighbors are paying $500-750K for a huge McMansion on 1/3 acre. I would rather have the land. It's only 1.5 acres, but I am grateful to have that much around here.

Re: Spring in full swing

Big Sis! What a GORGEOUS place you have, a cottage in the woods, so to speak! I'd love to live in a house like that someday, with grounds like that around it someday!

Spring is in full swing here too...the daffodils and other bulbs are all sprouting and blooming, the grass is greening up, and it's been raining a lot. Haha. I love this time of year...

Nice house, Chuck! I love that air conditioning!

Beautiful photo, Alex. We ususally get down to southern VA this time of year. We'll not be doing that this year, so it's nice to see the flowers. Thanks for sharing them!
