| Spring Images I love Spring in Arizona! My two favorite trees are the Palo Verde (with the yellow blooms) and the Jackaranda (with the purple blooms) – see below. ![]() On my drive to work I see many dozens of Palo Verde trees (literally exploding with yellow blooms) and the occasional Jackaranda (the one in my front yard and several others close to work). What are some of the sights that you see on your "spring" drive to work? |

| Fortissimo User | Hmm.... dead gophers; black soil with a lots of expensive farm equipment mushing it about; the sun reflecting in the water that is filling the ditches; gynormous flocks of birds headed for the Arctic (or nearest garbage dump), the odd coyote, jet trails headed every-which-way (the most shocking or startling observation I had after 9-11 was the utter lack of jet traffic overhead), the sun just over the horizon doing it's best to block my view of any of the above (we get it twice... once just before the switch to MT and once again about three weeks after the change), clumps of willow trees turning bright yellow as they start to bud (only one "d"... has nothing to do with beer). Oh... and coeds in shorts and T-shirts jogging or blading along the paved walkways in the park across the street from my house. |

| Forte User | Manure spreaders spreading in the fields, potholes, potholes, potholes, did I mention potholes?, geese, used to see spotted fawns the size of a dog on the way to my last school, turkeys. Sometimes the sunrise against the silos as I turn into the town where I teach is breathtaking. The whole world is still and silent, and there is the sun; a great big orange orb floating just over the treeline with silos groping upwards. As if reaching up out of a dark slumber. One day I'll remember to grab my camera. No flowers here really until next month. Then the lilacs come and grace us with their beautiful scent for a while. And yes, we get rollerblading and jogging coeds, too Toots. |

| Derek - those are beautiful, wish we had them here in Indiana. I ride a scooter[HD] in the nice weather and I mainly see litter, what is it with kids and throwing old cd's out the window ? Dave |
