![]() | Spring visited and will now get stomped I can't believe it. Temperatures have been above average for about two weeks and nature is all out of whack. The chipmunks are back (they were hibernating) and my bulbs are already sprouted six inches above the ground! It will get back to freezing temperatures beginning this weekend and all through next week. My daffodils and tulips will never survive and when Spring does arrive, they won't be around. Sorry, but this kind of thing upsets me. The rhythm of nature is getting more and more out of rhythm. Rant over. |

| Fortissimo User | The Lone Ranger was a garbage man. "To the dump, to the dump, to the dump, dump, dump" Wait... this is hijacking a thread. OK, back on topic. Tulips up 4" here too.... normally they'd be under 4' of snow this time of year. Sigh... get a life. Go clean the trumpet. Taking my own advice. |

| Mezzo Piano User | Weird, weird, weird winter weather. We had a couple snows in early Dacember that saw me get the snow blower out of the garage. Since then, it's been 50 -60 daytime temps and round the freezing mark during the dead on night here on Long Island. Normally, I'm scraping the ice off my windshields to drive and dreading having to leave thge house. This year I decide if it's nice enough to ride the motorcycle. Like I said, weird. The Montauk Daisies are breaking ground. What the hell though, I like it a little warmer, and with what it costs to heat the house these days I'll take all the warmth I can get. I got a feeling it's gonna be a 'buggy' summer though. There hasn't been a good 'killing' freeze yet.
