Stoked!

Woo hooo..... went to band rehearsal last night and someone said that Candian Brass would be in town to do a concert for the Symphony Association October 7. I phoned the box office as soon as they opened today and snagged tickets for Mrs. and self! As much as I love their music and have watched their DVDs and Christmas Specials, I've never seen them perform live. Should be a "blast"!

(Maybe I'll even write a review). Note to self... set camera for "Silence" and "No Flash".

Hey...sounds like you and the Mrs are in for a great night. I had the good fortune to see them live as an undergrad. IT was fantastic! (That was when Mills and Romm were still with them).

Many yrs ago I sat in the front row at orchestra hall in MPLS for a Canadian Brass Concert. Wow!!!!!

They played some vespers so members of the MN orchestra played. I remember thinking to myself, why does that guy (Manny) not have a silver trumpet????

Yep... several years ago the CB were doing a concert a few hundred miles from here so my daughter organized a bunch of kids from the Conservatory and they made a "road trip". Since she'd been discussing some french horn stuff with their "then" hornist it was natural that they'd meet up after the concert. The kids all ended up "doing the pub thing" with the guys wo also picked up the tab! (I seem to recall receiving a rather interesting cell phone call that night!)

Of course the personnel have changed since then but I'm still looking forward to the concert.

Hi Ed! The CB for the Western Canada tour will have Brandon Ridenour and Joe Burgstallern on trumpet, should be a great concert. Did I also see that you have Jens performing with you in this concert year?

Enjoy the music!

Bill

Hi Bill. Yes, I went to their website and see that they've now got a "more-or-less" rotating trumpet section!

You did indeed see that Jens will be coming to Lethbridge to perform in our 20th anniversary concert and run a workshop in the spring. We had Alan Vizutti for our 10th, recorded a CD for our 15th and now Jens for the 20th. Wonder who will be here for 25?

I havent seen them in a while. I saw them five or six times at Blossom music center with my parents when I was young. The last time was probably about 7 or 8 years ago

If you can, post a list of their program when you get it.

I would like to hear them and wonder if they ever have or would come to Israel.

Have a great time,
