![]() | Re: Super Bowl Predictions? Colts 24, Bears 13 By the end of the half, the commentators will stop making relevant observations about the game and give us a full-on dose of Peyton Manning fulfilling his legacy babble. Soap opera writers across the country will blush. Seriously, they should be talking about his linemen. What a solid group. Rex Grossman confirms the wisdom of stepping up in the pocket instead of dropping back back back and throwing picks. Lovie Smith lays down the law in the off season: “Rex, if you watch any more Vikings film I’m going to trade you to Detroit!!” John Mellencamp’s awful “My Country” will play at least 200 times during the game on various commercials for Chevrolet. The Like A Rock business was annoying, but way better than this crap. At least it’s not Dr. Z . . . What a marvelous job the University of Michigan Marching Band did playing the Star Spangled Banner at their bowl game. Very martial; the way it’s supposed to “go.” My guess here: an “artist” will howl through ’er at quarter note equals 40. Speaking of, please don’t let it be Yolanda so and so from last night. Ouch! She doesn’t carry a tune, she drops it down the steps and then mashes it up with an old 5-iron. My remote control will get a workout every time a Coors Light commercial comes on. Hopefully PBS will have a show on about Kilimanjaro or something. I’m only adding three jalapenos to the chili for Superbowl Sunday. Six was overkill for the divisional round. Maybe I’ll just try extra-hot Rotel tomatoes instead. And what a marvelous job my hometown brewery, August Schell Brewing, is doing these days. The current owners are the nicest people on the face of the planet too. Good to see businesses like this make it year after year. Then there’s Summit in St. Paul. I need to add a stomach so I can enjoy both equally. Totally odd prediction: we’ll see a shot of Joseph Addai whipping someone’s tushy with a white towel as part of some crazed 4th quarter sideline celebration dance. If this comes true, I’m playing the lottery every week.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Super Bowl Predictions? Mike, One of the biggest stories in Detroit sports history is when Hall of Fame writer Joe Falls picks the Colts 127- 0 over the Jets in Super Bowl lll. They still bring it up all the time. I'm pulling for the Bears, but I don't know... -cw-
