| Well, not New Yor City, but if I drive to Long Island, about 50 miles, they have a nice shooting range there. I only use a small caliber rifle. If I want to use a hand gun,I have to go all the way to Pensilvania. I do not hunt,so this works out well. You can ,actually, own a gun in NYC,but you cannot take it across State lines |

| I guess I'm confused at the law not allowing you to take your weapon out of state? Do you happen to have a cite for that? What I'm saying is that (along w/a lot of gun laws) does not make any sense to me. |

| Well,I am with you on that. This is a New York State Law,some states have it different Even when I travel in state, the gun MUST be locked in the trunk of my car,amo must be separate and away from the gun.The gun must have a lock on the case as well. That's how it is with hand guns. Before you buy it,the shop will run an FBI check, and then 6 month later, they just might give you permision to apply for a permit, that will take another 6 month. I guess what gets my goat is how they can limit firearms leaving the state. | |
