re: THNAKSGIVING!

I some people hate my title. I should have put Thanksgiving:praise the Lord. I wonder if there is a way to edit that...

As a Co-Moderator, I'll gladly bow to Chuck's decision. Thanksgiving is an American Holiday, as is Erntedankfest in Germany, and I'm sure other countries and cultures have their own versions as well.

Erntedankfest means literally "harvest thanks festival (or feast);" a way of acknowledging that we have enough resources to get us through the winter. It started back in the B.C. days, and was adopted by the church in Germany around 300 A.D. It is indeed pagan in origin, as are a suprising number of religious holidays.

Our Thanksgiving follows the same theme as the Erntedankfest. We all have stuff to be thankful for. If we announce to whom we are thankful, whether diety or politician, we start skating on very, very thin ice here at TM.

So let us give thanks publicly, without saying to whom.

Me? I'm really thankful for duct tape and baling wire. I'm thankful for liquid paper, flip-flops, Trumpetmaster.com and professional wrestling.

Most of all I'm thankful Jennifer Aniston wears a Vulgano Brother t-shirt on occasion.

Lots of stuff to be thankful for.
