Depends who buys it. You've dodged one bullet already though, with Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes buying a house in Sussex, rather than Surry!

Isn't this larger than most palaces? I'd like to know the square footage, compared with Buckingham or Blenheim or one of those palaces inhabited by .. mere royals.
3.5 ACRES of marble? Whew.......It looks splendid, but at half a million pounds per month, it had better be. I'd have to teach a whole lifetime of lessons to get one payment...if then.

According to the website Updown Court is larger in area than Buckingham Palace and Hampton Court Palace, so i guess you are correct. Mind you, her Maj still has the largest castle in the world for her weekend retreat, so she still has bragging rights!

I wonder why Updown Court was built. Usually these things are made to measure. Seems a bit gaudy for my tastes.
