Tips 'n' Tricks

I'm smacking myself in the head. I just discovered how to search the archives for stuff using the tools already here.

1) Go to bottom left corner of any of the Forums pages and look where the options boxes call for "sorted by" and "from the". Pick "last year" from the dropdown list.
2) Click on "show Threads".... and wait a while.
3) When the computers have finished grinding away, the "Search" option up at the top will now Search the entire list, not just the last few threads. If you use the "Advanced search" feature you can even specify the username you might want to look for and/or combinations of keywords. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to work for "beginning".
4) Remember that it is still better to only show the last week or so of threads when in "normal use". Saves computer time (both YOURS and the TM servers).

Re: Tips 'n' Tricks

thanks Tootsall - with my feeble mind I still had to print it out so that I can "search" again tomorrow. Dave
