| Tom Petty's halftime show I for once, enjoyed the halftime show. No hype, no costume malfunctions (O.K. , so I didn't really hate that one ) just music. |

![]() | Re: Tom Petty's halftime show Sorry, I thought it was kinda lame. Maybe not Rolling Stones lame, but pretty close. He didn't have any real stage presence, and without really being familiar with his music, it was all lost on me. For me, the best halftime show ever was in 1993: YouTube - Michael jackson live superbowl 1 |

| Re: Tom Petty's halftime show Tom Petty is not for everyone. Every mans opinion is as valid as anothers, but... Your reply made my point. MJ was All hype, the music was secondary. Classic overhyped superbowl halftime show. Maybe that's what everyone else wants. Me, I still want to hear music, first and foremost. |

| Re: Tom Petty's halftime show True, sometimes simple can be repetitive. Sometimes it can be truly elegant. No one artist hits a homerun everytime. I suppose Tom Petty means a little more to my generation than others. And it probably colors my response to whatever he does. So be it, there are far worse to follow. |

![]() | Re: Tom Petty's halftime show Much of what I like about Michael Jackson's music has to do with the Quincy Jones arrangements, which admittedly weren't showcased at that superbowl. However, the man can dance and he put on a great show. |

![]() | Re: Tom Petty's halftime show Alicia Keys played before the game. Did any of you notice her trumpet player is left handed? Do we know who he is? (The pinkie hook was on the bell so I think he may be for real.) A good half time show? Tower of Power Chicago Blood Sweat and Tears (original group) Doubie Brothers Maynard tribute band. Carrie Underwood with plenty of costume malfunctions. Anything Disney for the sake of family viewing. |
