Word on the street has it the funnel appeared right over a violist convention in Vancouver--I keep telling folks how they suck!

Let me share a true story....
About 60 years ago my mother brought home two old beater violins that was given to her by her friend who was a local a violin teacher.

Our mother must have had great visions that my twin sister and I soon might become great musicans and artists of the violin.

At first, my mother was so proud to have us both taking violin lessons but less than two months...
it suddenly became crystle clear...that this vision simply JUST WASN'T GOING TO HAPPEN.
My sister and I were only in the 2nd grade and I can assure you that before long...everyone in our family, including our beloved old howling Coon dog were quickly going BONKERS...from listening to all that horrible SQUEAKIN'SQUAKKKIN''-OUT OF TUNE HACKIN' NOISE that only a violin can produce with such ease.

The end of this story came quicky.

I will never forget that BLESSED FINE DAY... when my sister and I came home from school and not much to our surprise...

FOUND THAT BOTH VIOLINS WERE GONE!!!

That was the end of our music lessons until I was in the 7th grade waay back in 1951...when I was given a beat up old Conn trumpet and haven't stopped playing the trumpet yet.

Naw....you're mistaken. It was the international double reed festival seminar on breathing. You should have seen it a second later when they exhaled.
