![]() ![]() ![]() | Tres Weird Chladni Plates See sounds, market your own Monette Mandala..... YouTube - Chladni Plates A fun way to see sound waves, really! Don't blow your speakers out, and maybe chain the dog first.

| Forte User | Re: Tres Weird Chladni Plates That is incredible. I see that and raise you: YouTube - Amazing Liquid This is Corn Starch and Water put on top of a plate that vibrates. You can also do this with a speaker. Sound waves are incredible. The last two demonstrations blow my mind. |

![]() | Re: Tres Weird Chladni Plates Jerry, I'm on my laptop at work and the sound card doesn't work. I'll have to listen to it when I get home and provide a translation. Julius Sumner Miller was actually a compatriot of yours although he spent his later life in Australia. I remember watching him on the ABC (Australian Broadcasting Commission-government broadcaster) during the 60s when I was but a Joey. He had a somewhat eccentric style helped by those eyebrows and 'Einstein' hairdo. I'm guessing there will be lines like 'Struth prof, that's a beaut machine' but will confirm this later and provide a translation. Regards, Trevor |

![]() | Re: Tres Weird Chladni Plates Ah, I've now been able to hear the good prof actually speak and is it not so that he has an American accent? Is it no so that he is enjoying himself even though it is hard work? Is it not so that uniform, homogeneous and isotropic are three good words? His catch phrase was always 'the question arises, why is it so?' Personally, I think the bow is from a viola which may actually explain why his armpits are in fact above his eyes. Regards, Trevor |
