I've noticed that there are several posts showing up in various forums for selling phones, i-pods, and other junk that is unrelated to trumpet discussions. I hope that these can be banned and deleted before this site becomes infected as badly as TPO (I think Mark Van Cleeve has been cleaning it up lately). These types of posts just detract from what this type of site is all about: Trumpets!

They can be fixed by adding a random word generator to the registration form.
It is bots that post, not humans. Bots can't read the word generators.

The moderators here have a life and do not monitor 24x7. The worst thing that any of you can do is to respond, or otherwise clutter up TM with posts about it.

Report the post using the warning triangle. We will get to it.

I think that Goeff's question and Breke's suggestion were whether such posts can be prevented. I am not a techie, but adding random word generator on registration - is it difficult to be done? If the adverts are posted by bots this may resolve the issue.

The mods respond pretty quickly to reports of SPAM, so just alert them (without responding in the offensive thread which bumps it up!) and they'll take it down...

At least it wasn't one of the inane "male enhancement" spam mesages. Probably wasn't needed as they not proliferate on daytime television. so the "kiddies" can see them. go figure!
