VGA to RCA cable Alright, first I'll attempt to explain what I want to do. For some strange reason, neither my computer (Acer Aspire 3004WLMi) nor my TV (Polaroid) has an S-video jack. I want to watch movies I have stored on my computer, on my TV. My computer has a VGA jack in the back and my TV has the standard red, white, and yellow RCA plugs. I've googled "vga to RCA converter cable" but all I've found is HD projector cables. Does anyone know where I could find something, ANYTHING to connect my computer and TV together?

Re: VGA to RCA cable Jeez, that's pretty expensive. I'll try to play around with the computer's dvd burning software to see if I can format disks to work with a dvd player. I've burned movies before, but they'll only work on other computers.

Re: VGA to RCA cable The scan converter would do the trick ! The computer signal operates at a much higher frequency then your tv does, and without the convertor, no cable will help. Simply put, your tv is not capable of reading the higher frequency and displaying it. The only problem with scan convertors is the image quality. I have yet to see a cheap one that doesn't trash the picture quality. Even some of the more expensive ones still have mediocre picture quality. You're better off upgrading your video card to a VIVO setup (Video In, Video Out) if your motherboard has this capability ! (AGP slot) A cheap video card with VIVO or at least an s-video output (Can be adapted to composite ) ,can be had for less than $60 bucks, possibly less if you dig. Good luck, Toobz

Re: VGA to RCA cable I'll have to look into the VIVO thing once finals week is over. I've got a whole lotta nothing from this Wednesday up until mid June before my summer gig starts, so this could be a cool project. Thanks for all your help, guys!
