What food inspires your playing?

I have read alot about Maynards love of indian food. I got by for years on pizza and beer. Do any of you have favorites for that special day when your playing has to be just perfect - or as a treat after you have done a great job?

Original question

There is nothing I really need to eat to do a good job. What I do like, is a nice cold beer when I'm finished. Just to relax and have a little time to reflect on my performance.

As a kind of good luck charm, me and a few guys from the corps I play in have a glass of Johnny Walker before we have a big gig. It doesn't help, but it tastes like victory anyway

A good curry usually does the job!

Or in a pinch, a kebab with lots of chilli sauce.

mike ansberry is on a distinguished road
If I've finished up a trying gig or played particularly well I sometimes treat myself to a giant Snickers bar. That is a habit I'm trying to break.

I love Indian food and used to eat it before concerts, but now I try not eat too much before. I'm with Makke though, a nice cold beer after the gig is a must.

Makke- If I remember correctly, I'm pretty sure the Red Sox did shots of Jack before each world series game when the won it...

I try to do nothing out of the normal on gig days. Just another day at the office!

For my band concerts I wait and eat after the concert.

For me, and a lot of the bands I used to play with, FREE food was a big motivator.
