Question Who Drives a Ford Car or Truck?

Who drives a Ford on this forum. Lets get the "found on the side of the road dead" jokes out of the way and all that good stuff

If you have a Ford post the model here and any comments you might have about the vehicle.

Re: Who Drives a Ford Car or Truck?

Does this count?

I call her "Old Faithful."

I got her as a "six year old" in '72 and my wife and I took our honeymoon trip in her in 1973.

She was retired to mainly do "Garage Duty" in '87.

She's always turned heads too.

She still has her original upholstery in good condition too . . . although I wisely put the front buckets in storage about 20 years ago and recovered some '71 Mustang seats in the correct upholstery to replace 'em.

Re: Who Drives a Ford Car or Truck?

I have a '99 Ford Mustang GT. V8, 5-speed, 17 inch wheels, almost every option available. It now has 132,000+ miles and other than normal stuff like tires and brakes, the only repair I've had is one ignition coil replaced (there are 8). A fast car. Hi, Tom.

Damn Tom! Nice Ford. So you have had that car since 1972? Pretty cool!

Re: Who Drives a Ford Car or Truck?

I have had many wonderful fords. I just purchased, last week, a 2007 ford focus. terrific car. 2500 cash back. window price was 16,200. sales guy reduced it to 14, then applied the cash back. a great sporty car in a beautiful light blue for 11,500. Best salesman and car buying experience i have ever had. Hastings Ford, Greenville, NC. Totally professional, and no bs.

Re: Who Drives a Ford Car or Truck?

Do Mercurys count? I had a 1990 Sable with 180,000+ before it had an involuntary encounter with black ice. We have a newer Sable and a Tracer. The Tracer is 1997 with 155,000 it has a couple of 10-year-old-car-with-155,000-miles problems but it runs really well and has had very few problems for me (had to replace muffler and alternator). If I were buying a compact today I would look at the Focus, my folks have one and they really like it... my dad calls it a Honda Killer, and it is actually in my budget. Also I have yet to buy a new car. and have done really well with Mercury (Ford) For all I complain about Fix Or Repair Daily the fact that I had/have 3 with well over 100,000 on them (also had a Tempo that died) should say something about Ford.

Re: Who Drives a Ford Car or Truck?

My company car is a 2001 Ford Windstar, biggest piece of junk I have ever driven. It now has 71,000 miles, it has squeaked and rattled since it was brand new. At 50,000 miles the steel line on the steering rack rotted out leaving me with very stiff steering rather unexpectedly. I don't understand why they call it a Windstar either, the slightest cross breeze pushes it all over the road, and if you drive it behind a tractor trailer on the highway it feels like a Cesna in severe turbulence, it shakes from side to side.
I would never buy anything other than a Chrysler product.

MOPAR or No Car!
