I know of a sign above a Georgia convenience store off an interstate that reads:

GET GAS!

EAT HERE!

Can't vouch for the food though!

To branch off of Tom's post, I have seen a sign along Interstate 90 in South Dakota that says simply "Eat Gas". Interesting.

Well, if the order of the day is amusing signs...

There is a shed shop near to where I work that is something of a local tourist attraction (in fact, if I have people to stay we tend to take a trip just to see it!). The reason? The sign on the fence outside that announces to the world that the company offer:

FREE ERECTION

A buddy and I had just graduated and were taking a road tour through the Atlantic Provinces of Canada. We'd taken the ferry across the Bay of Fundy (wanting to save the last two gallons of oil for the return home in the old, mosquito-killing Volvo). Getting off the ferry in Digby, Nova Scotia, we saw one of those "Mom n Pop" cabin motels beside the road. It was called "Cleverlay Cabins". We never stopped to see if they rented by the hour!!

There was a sign here for a storage company that read "BACK TO SCHOOL SPECIAL"....The funny thing about it was that it was directly above a gun store sign.
