Who wants a good Ebay laugh?

I was on ebay just looking to see what kind of trumpets they have on there that I cannot buy. I came across a rather funny listing (2 actually). This is listed as Pro Valve Trumpet with Trigger. Silver, New Pro Valve Trumpet wih trigger. Silver New - eBay (item 180218357248 end time Feb-26-08 11:55:23 PST)

Maybe I only find it funny because it is a Rotary trumpet, not a Valve trumpet. Gotta love it when those rip offs try something new, or just dont know anything at all about what they are selling

Looks like cheep Chinese knock-offs to me; they have any color you want, they're probably hit one with pink spraypaint if you wanted that color!

And where's the maker? 10 years on 'eButt' here, my friends, you ALWAYS show a close-up of the maker's label, stamp, etc. In fact if you think you have something good, you use LOTS of pics, pics are cheap.

Ebay: Funnier than any thieves' market has any right to be!

Over 7000 feedback here and now I don't touch that site with a 10 ft pole to buy or sell.

As Chef would say, Fudge 'em.

Oddly enough, a rotary valve is indeed a valve.

Re: Who wants a good Ebay laugh?

I consider a Valve, a piston valve, and not a rotary. But I can see where you are coming from.

Rotary VALVE and Piston VALVE. Hmmmmmm.....

I agree that the instrument in question may be worth much less than what it sold for, but saying a rotary valve not as legit as a piston valve is a serious error in judgement. I guess that you may not consider the instruments pictured below to have valves according to your post. Not only do they have valves, but they are some very fine instruments!
