![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Are you right-brained or left-brained? When starting out on the trumpet, we are all left brained, as we get the parts that are "left" over. As we advance in our capabilities, we are forced to become right brained as we get the parts that a "right" for our quality of playing. If the conductor is having an affair with someone in the section, what is left may become a factor again. As a hopelessly infected TRUMPET PLAYER, I want it all! I can see both directions, clockwise came first and then she changed directions again and again. Does that mean that I have split personalities? (NO it doesn't) (but it could) (NO I say!) (what makes you so smart?) (shut up and let somebody else post!) Last edited by rowuk : 02-04-2008 at 11:21 AM. |

![]() | Re: Are you right-brained or left-brained? It is curious to note that when we start out, listening to music does make the right side of our brain "light up," but when we reach the point of being called musicians, listening becomes a cognitive, left-brained function. |

![]() | Re: Are you right-brained or left-brained? Nope. No glitch. And it is possible to make it switch. The first direction we see it turned is supposed to show our dominant side. |

| Re: Are you right-brained or left-brained? It started counter, and then it switched for me too. Now when I go back, it stays clockwise. Must be the power of suggestion working on me. |

| Re: Are you right-brained or left-brained? There's another test I learned about long ago - fold your hands as if to pray and note which thumb is on top. The opposite side is supposed to be your dominant brain side. Unfortunately, this test and the dancing lady give opposite results in my case. |

| Mezzo Piano User | Re: Are you right-brained or left-brained? OK, I don't know anymore if it actually changes direction. It sure seems to. At any rate, I see it clockwise mostly. You can change its direction by focusing on the shadow of the foot, at least that worked for me. |
