The Beatles released a milestone album. It was Sgt Pepper. Many of you will recognise the horn in the photo. The original is in the American Music Museum. That was a prop that didnt play. This recreation does.

What to do with it now I've made it ???

All the best.

Andy Taylor.

Wow -- fantastic! How does it play? Does the right angle bend at the bottom of the heart affect some notes? Curious to hear some player test results....

Re: 40 years ago....

Too Cool! If it plays as good as it looks there could be a market for those!

Re: 40 years ago....

I didnt really expect the angle at the bottom of the heart to affect it much as it not much of an angle. What really did suprise me is just how well it does play! Before it was silver plated I gave it to a couple of players who came by the workshop to play on. The first was Claude Deppa (a lot of UK and European players know, or know of, Claude). He played it, smiled, played some more, smiled some more, then screamed out unholy loud double high 'C's that had the dog running to the office for cover, followed by huge laughter and crys of 'wow' it really does work. Next day a very promising classical student from the Guild Hall came in, saw it there on the bench and asked questions. She came in to try some trumpets, a B**h, a Sc****e, an E*****e and then she played the Sgt Pepper trumpet. She wouldn't put it down! and she sounded great on it. Well out of her mothers price bracket and not really the most suitable horn for ordhestral work! but she loved it and the dog lay at her feet while she played it.

So yes, it works just fine.

Make me a sensible offer and I might be persuaded to make another.

All the best.

Andy Taylor.
