Anybody want to buy a Bach Bb or Yamaha F/G?

I'm selling a couple of horns to pay for my super expensive new rotary trumpet. Check out pictures and clips at www.joshuamaccluer.com. There are links to the eBay auction on the site. Horns come up next Saturday at noon.

Hello Josh. Good luck selling your horns. I was just curious, what rotary won you over?

I got a Ricco Kuehn. There's two models as far as I know and I got the smaller of the two with the "krantz" on the bell. It's a great horn, but all the newer rotary trumpets are really expensive these days.

Ah, very nice. Congratulations on your new "baby". How did you go about chosing a mouthpiece that is both comfortable for you and good for the horn? (I promise to stop tugging on your shirt and asking questions after this.....LOL)

I've heard good things about Ricco Kuehn instruments. The Boston Symphony just purchased a set a year or two ago.

I like the JK mouthpieces. They feel fairly normal on my face, and are a tiny bit shorter than a piston mouthpiece. It fixes a lot of the pitch and timbre inconsistencies. I use a 4B and a 4D depending on rep.

Also, I just sold the F/G trumpet, so I cancelled the auction.

Definitly the best choice as far as the Kuehn rotary! The medium bell with Kranz is better IMO than the larger bell without it.
