Re: Anyone dealt with Horntrader I'll preface this by saying I've never bought anything from him. However, I got a good recommendation from a friend, John Trombetta who says he's been very cool to him. John is currently on the road with the Broadway touring version of Annie. I have spoken to the guy at HornTrader... and he was great. Very helpful. I actually plan on buying one of those EzBucket mutes he sells. Anyway...he's got some interesting stuff available...and has been very pleasant to talk to. For what all that's worth... there you go...

| Fortissimo User | Re: Anyone dealt with Horntrader I have not purchased from him but I have exchanged emails & etc. with him. From what I've experienced, Steve is a "good guy" who makes some of his living out of buying low and selling high OR being a broker between buyers and sellers. I haven't heard of him shafting anyone but I have heard a couple of people who "think" they might have paid too much. Well, it's like a used car lot... ultimately the decision to buy is yours and yours alone. And he DOES have some nice stuff available. "What's it worth TO YOU?" |

Re: Anyone dealt with Horntrader Horntrader has sold one horn for me, and I have purchased a used Bach Bb from him. He is very honest, and will work to sell your horn. His prices may seem high, but I do believe he has a trial period.....

Re: Anyone dealt with Horntrader Thanks for the info. I don't mind paying more money, I just do not like being ripped off. (in fact, I hate it)

Re: Anyone dealt with Horntrader Take this for what it is worth, but I had one transaction with him that was extremely disappointing (to the point where I will never deal with him again). I bought an early Elkhart 229 C from him, the photos looked great. When it arrived it had been heavily buffed (the bell stamp and serial number were barely visible) and replated. When I returned the horn half an hour after its delivery he charged me a $60 restocking fee which was not mentioned at any time previously.

Re: Anyone dealt with Horntrader In January, I bought a Chicago Benge C Trumpet from Steve Dillard, owner of The Horn Trader. I found Steve to be honest, friendly, knowledgable, willing to answer all my questions and go the extra mile. Regards, Richard Oliver
