Re: audition help

Is your problem that it will take a few weeks (or months) to get your horn delivered, so you want to grab a cheap horn locally to get in shape? If so, I'd recommend an Ambassador as well, but that's a horn that hasn't been made in over twenty years and there may not be any available in your area. Check the thread posted by Schwab for a list that includes late models. I have personally played an (Andreas) Eastman intermediate model; it was good for the price. One discontinued model that's not in that thread is the Conn 100B; I have one and it served me well but you probably won't see one.

Where are you? That will be a big factor in an answer. There are many possible models that will work for you but the question is what is available that you can put your hands on quickly and within your budget. If you look at my signature, every horn listed there would be great for what you want, but not if you can't get one quickly.

Give us some more information and maybe there are more ideas.
