| B&s 130 Sorry about posting a new thread on the same topic, hoping the topic title catches the eye of someone with the same horn. Got news from Germany about my B&S horn I enquired about in a previous post (B&S model help). Was made in the old B&S factory in Germany in the 70's., the B&S 130. Unfortunately they have no paperwork left from that time period, so they can't tell me much about my horn. Anyone have the same horn maybe? Know it's quality? Even know anything about B&S horns from that time period? Anything at all that might be of help? Please. |

![]() ![]() | Re: B&s 130 Warren what do you want to know? You got some comments in the last thread about BS. If I owned the BS you have and wrote in and said it was the best trumpet ever made. Or if I wrote back and said I owned it and the instrument is horrible and you should toss it. Would it make a difference. If you like it and it plays well for you that's all you need. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: B&s 130 The old B&S factory was in East Germany at that time. Those horns were just standard fare for schools and amateur wind bands. Only in recent years has B&S/VMI made strides in producing top quality massed produced trumpets. Tatataka has exactly the right view though - if it plays well rejoice, if not, do something about it. There is never any valid reason for brand blindness or prejudice, unless you are looking to sell something on eBay. TRUST YOUR EARS AND CHOPS, they are all that matters! |

| Re: B&s 130 Thanks for all the advise. Basically just trying to decide on what to do with my horn, sell or keep. Difficult to know though because I don't have access to other horns to try out. Thanks for the help though. |

![]() | Re: B&s 130 While maybe not having state-or-the-art research and development, the East German craftsman were no slouches--this isn't a horn you want to toss away. Are there better horns out there? Most likely, but in terms of practical reality, the best trumpet in the world is the one in our own hands. |
