![]() | Bach 182 Model Hi everyone, fun reading, seeing all the cool stuff on here... I don't know how many of you have heard of this model or tried it yet, it has been out for about a year or two now, it's the Bach 182. I personally made the switch to it about a year ago... basically it's an awesome light weight Bach, standard tuning slide and bracing, not the reversed, but with a regular 37 bell on it. It is without question the best trumpet I have ever played. It still has that gorgeous core Bach sound, but a little brighter, killer lead horn, great highs on it and still that one of a kind Bach tone, I love this thing. About a year ago, I was back in Elkhart IN, Jeff Christiana, trumpet and trombone marketing manager for Bach and Bobby Thorpe of Synergy Brass got me to try it and I just fell in love with it and never looked back. I know everyone has their different cup of tea, but if you get a chance you might want to try one, it is amazing. Rich Wetzel Welcome to Rich Wetzel's Official Website

![]() | Re: Bach 182 Model Glad you like it. I just don´t understand the motivation behind the model 182, since there is a LR 37 featuring also a lightweight body with regular bell. I was told, they produced them as a substitude during the strike. I´d rather wish a regular body with lightweight bell, as the early Mt. Vernon were. Since now I was able to test two of them, nice horns, brighter and more responsive than the regular Strad 37 but compared my completely lightweight horns they sounded a bit "boring". Just my taste. ![]() | Re: Bach 182 Model I hear you... I personally, for me, like the standard tuning slide and bracing vs the reverse. Not everyone is going to like the same trumpet, that is a given, but a large number of friends who have tried it got the same sense that I did, nice core tone but brighter and projecting nicely in all registers. Quite a few people at NAMM kept hanging around the booth, playing it and saying the same types of things. Not everyone, but a large number, that really is why I felt like sharing about it, as it is not as well known as all the other models at this point. We all have to do what feels and sounds right for us, for me, this 182 is awesome.
