![]() | Real nice horn. I played it back in December- long enough ago for me to forget the specifics of the horn. I do know that I enjoyed playing it, however. I recall it costing close to $1,700. IMHO, it's not worth $300 more than any other Bach. |

![]() | To my recolection, the popular Bach of Commercial/Broadway choice around the NYC area was the 43/43* combo. Could be wrong but a friend told me awhile back that they called this combo the "New Yorker"!? This is just what I heard!?

![]() | NYC the Big Apple home of Jazz, Broadway and great Classical music, brings you the new Bach Big Apple Trumpet. Designed in collaboration with professional musicians in NY. Bach and Sam Ash introduce the Bach Big Apple trumpet. A medium large bore, silver-plated body with gold trim, and Special Bach anniversary case. Also this limited edition instrument is finished with unique Big Apple engraving. Destined to be a collectors item Special Anniversary case, Big Apple engraving ... will it become a collector's item? If so, a few hundred more might be worth it. M&C |

![]() | I doubt it will become a collector's item. The sales rep at Sam Ash told me that they're available eclusively through Sam Ash, but no one plans on making a limited quantity. |

![]() | Re: Bach Big Apple trumpet? It is preety that is for sure! The link posted at the top did not work for me but I found it by cliking on the Orchestra link on the same ash page. Hopefuly the link I posted will work better. So what is the point of it just another marketing model right? Put some engraveing on it and glitz it up and charge a premium etc???? It is still just another Bach Strad right? I mean thier is nothing to this that is not available on any other Bach correct? The bell is the same choice as other, same leadpipe, same valve's etc....... If that is the case Iwould say if you are looking for a trumpet go for it she is preety but I doubt that it is going to do anything that a $300 cheaper Bach wount do. Todays market is flooded or saturated with Bach Strad's of modern design they probably are looking at slipping sales and trying something different to stimulate buying. Since so many people are out of work right now a lot of Mom's and Dad's are probably telling Johnny no sorry no Bach Strad for you this year etc......Ihave an anniversary every year it mightnot be a mile stone mark like 25 year's 75 years 100years etc....but it comes every year same date. So in theory they could make that case as long as they wanted to look at the goofy stuff Art Van has done for the last 20+ years. Since the market is flooded with Bach Strad's unless this has a unique bore profile and unique leadpipe etc.... I doubt that it will ever be a collectors piece so do not buy it as such. If youdoubt me go tot he goodwill and look at allthe Elvis plates and Star Trek collectors plates on sale for $4-$10........It is all about the marketing! This thread is 4 y 9 m old. BTW: I'm wondering: Why are you bashing most (all?) of the trumpet makers I know the name of? And especially the most famous of the brands; Bach? My short time memory is very limited, but I mean to remember a few (in good faith ): Taylor, Harrelson, Getzen, Bach, Schilke, Kanstul. Most of them was not even spelled right. All those makers are making a living, and keeping people occupied with jobs. If TM should want any of those to contribute on this site, which would be very interesting for most of the TM-ers they would probably say NO! because of negatively loaded posts like ie yours. Think about that.
