![]() | Bach long bell pic I recently just bought a Bach Strad long bell pic and am wondering what kind of mouthpiece to use. (it didn't come with one). A regular trumpet mouthpiece doesn't fit. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Here's a link if you care to see what the horn looks like. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWN%3AIT&rd=1 Thanks. Warren |

![]() | The new long model works very well, it's not as bright as the Schilke, and very in tune- a very fine trumpet. If you want one ,get it fast. I use a Bach 7DW with my Schilke and it works very well. Also try the Bach 7EW and 7E, Schilke 11A, Laskey piccolo. Cornet shank.

![]() ![]() | I looked at the picture and it looks like the leadpipe splits into to pipes, one of which bypasses that valve cluster all together. Is the top pipe just there for ergonomic purposes? Just curious. -Jimi

![]() ![]() ![]() | Jimi, the tubing doesn't go anywhere, Rgale, the new long model looks like a Schilke, too. wrbandel: go for a cornet shank and try some older (used) mouthpieces, Holton, Olds, and especially Selmer, or for a new standby a Bach 7E.

![]() | Jimi, welcome back. That other pipe is just for support. Next time I see you I'll bring the horn along for you to try. VB - thanks for your suggestions. A friend of mine, a former band director here in town gave me a few mouthpieces to try. A Bach 7EW, Zottola 62C and a HN White C. So far I'm liking the Bach and the Zottola. Thanks again everyone for your suggestions. Warren |
