![]() | Re: Bach Strike over? I have received an email ad from mouthpiece express that said the strike is over, but the 'official' strike web site says nothing about this. Conn Selmer Strike Web Site. I haven't heard anything else. Mike |

![]() | Re: Bach Strike over? No not even close -The union is not decertified. -Unfair labor charges have been appealed and will eventually have to be addressed. -Quality in the plant is dismal. Check brass review comments (follow link off www.connselmerstrike.com -The strike line is still maintained. -Workers are choosing to produce horns for the family friendly EK blessing plant making high quality instruments. (I hear they got an order for China) Watch the new discussion forum on the Conn Selmer Strike web site for updated information. |

![]() | Re: Bach Strike over? I have no stock in the company, I just play Bach's because they work for me. Since Tedd Waggoners been in charge there seems to be a new era that many are happy with. I have a Bach Chicago and a Bach VBS 196 piccolo and I would be hard pressed to finer finer horns quality construction wise, but more importantly, playability and that Bach sound that no one seems to have been able to duplicate. Again I don't work for them and I'm not a former employee so I speak as a player of their instruments and I own a couple or various vintages, so I believe that I know a little something of the horns. Many more in a albeit non scientific poll at this point have preferred in their opinion a Bach Chicago C to another great horn, the Yamaha Chicago C Artist series horn. That isn't by accident or ignorance. Check the link yourself. Forum: trumpetherald.com I am incredibly fortunate to have won a contest on this site sponsored by TM, Dillon Music, and Bach (Conn-Selmer) "you Dream Trumpet" and they and Dillon music will be making my horn in the near future. Rumors of the Bach folks's demise are to be dismissed as rumors. A greta number of folks only want "post strike" horns vs. those of a more recent vintage years because of the vast improvements, and return to vintage design features, ie bell blow bend etc. Bach is better than ever. Now off to work and off my soap box.

![]() | Re: Bach Strike over? Tom I have to agree with you I am now on my third Bach...the first was a 1998 37 and it played very well...I then had a LB25 from around 2003 not so good. I now have a 2008 43RLS and it is just a great playing well made horn.....the sound is very special. I am aware of how subjectve the judgment of trumpets can be ....have a great day and the horn gets all the credit..... have a bad day and you guessed it.. I suppose the negative rumors come from the "bad day".... Walter |
