Bells, Bells, Bells

Here's a question for someone that has played many different types of horns over the years. With trumpet bells, how does the material of it affect the sound??? I've heard that copper makes it sound more mellow and luxurious, while brass and silver are sorta standard trumpet sounds??? I was just looking at all the different types of Eclipse bells and wondered how the materials and finishes affect the sound???

When in doubt, go with the FLOW... it's all about the flow... musical line and tone production :)

samdaman,

The bell descriptions on the Eclipse website, written by Noel Langely, UK Eclipse Artist, are very accurate.

See: Bell Options and Finishes.

Cheers!

The best person to ask about bells is Andy Taylor. info@jaztec.com
