NYTC has a spectacular aura about
Benge CG

Hey all.
What would be a fair price for a Benge CG trumpet,around 1980's make?
Good condition,no dents,some Silver off.

Felix -- in good shape, no major repairs evident, I'd say $750-800, less if the silver loss is significant. I've been tracking ebay sales of Benges for some time now, and that's about the market.

I would agree; perhaps slightly lower ... and perhaps, just about the same range, provided the original (or better) case in fine condition is present. Other "pertinent" items, such as original warrentee/registration card, mouthpiece(s), "hang-tags", original sales receipt, etc.

There is a similar horn up for bidding on eBay right now; however, there is suspicion there is dubious "phantom" (shill) bidding occuring. Last time I looked, it was up to about a grand.

Yes, but that horn was apparently in a lot better condition than the average used Benge, and I've seen buyers willing to pay 11-1200 bucks for one that is like new.
