Besson 2-20 Silver

I've had my eye on a Besson 2-20 silver trumpet, serial #380xxx and would like to know if anyone has info on its year and approximate value. It plays very nicely.

Thanks

Re: Besson 2-20 Silver

Hi, those are very nice horns, mostly depending on the condition of the valves. Not much available parts. It is an upper intermediate horn, very similar to my Besson 8-10 from 55. In fact, I am using a set of 2-20 valves in mine as replacements. Somewhere between 67 and 68 would be the build year, according to the list I have. I used to have a Besson 8-10 cornet from about the same time. Valuewise there are a couple on ebay, I think. One has a bid of $51.01 with 2hrs to go. There is a Reserve on that one, a lacquer, virtually identical to mine, except for the spit valves. I see a silver one on ebay with a 380xxx. That the one?

From the description and photos I would pay up to $150-75, other than I already have a good playing Besson very similar.

Now, if I could find a cheap 10-10.....

Hope this helps.
