Best brass stores/shops in London/Liverpool??????

Hey lads across the pond - I am planning a trip to Liverpool and London Jan 16-22. Would like to visit the top brass shop there (equiv of Dillons here in the states) to try horns, maybe meet up with one of you? What's the top store? Best time to visit? Thanks very much!

The top place I can think of is Leigh McKinney and the lads at Eclipse Trumpets in Luton. http://www.eclipsetrumpets.com . Of course, I'm biased. :)

Phil Parker in London or John Myatt in Hitchin (about half an hour train ride from Kings Cross).
I don't know about Liverpool.

Phil Parker's is THE place to go if you are looking for brass in the UK. The only place that keeps a decent range of instruments in stock.

Don't be surprised by the apparent disorganisation of the shop, it has always been like this, it always will be and if they ever looked tidy the brass world would probably die of shock.

As for Eclipse - they are certainly worth contacting to see if you can get up and say hi, but I would not say that those guys are the finest brass store in the UK - quite possibly the finest maker, but they don't stock a vast number of other makes, just what they have had traded in.
