![]() | 1 and 2 tied -- Harrelson, Eclipse 3-Lawler 4-Kanstul (a fantastic instrument for the money you pay) 5-Several Tied for #5 I would say the top 3 on my list are special because they are pretty much custom for you if you order them new.

![]() ![]() | ok, I'll bite... Of course I love my Monettes. Although I don't like the way they play, I think Yamaha has made progress in their R and D department. I definitely have a respect for their attention to detail, even if the results aren't my style. Although I don't own any Blackburn instruments, their leadpipes and the few instruments I have played have always impressed me. I have played a few really nice Getzen cornets. I guess thats about it. Although I own a Schilke piccolo, I would have to rate Stomvi piccs a little bit higher (anybody want to trade?). -Jimi

| Pianissimo User | If I had to rank them (someone holding a gun to my head): Bach Yamaha Lawler Blackburn Monette I will say that I am very happy with my Bachs, but I also own a Lawler and love it too. I have played or owned all of the makes on my list and like them all. For me, Bach makes the best all-around horn, and I do not find them overpriced. For the record, I don't find Yamaha's Artist Model horns overpriced either, even though you can get a Bach for 1/2 the price. I don't really care what any horn make costs. You play what you play, and as long as you sound good, who cares who made your trumpet. Oh, I'll be happy to take that Bach off your hands, Dan!
