Anderson Plating would probably be my first guess...they do great work, and I know they can do that.

Re: Best source for brush lacquer???

I think Anderson just does plating only, not relaquering. I've seen some very nice laquer jobs from Pettifor's Repair, also in Elkhart. I don't know if they do brushed laquer, but they have done some very nice relaquering for the music store I work for.

Roy Lawler does a great brush lacquer finish. I don't know if he works on non-Lawler horns. You could call and ask though.

Re: Best source for brush lacquer???

Ed Strege at Badger State Repair does great refinishing. He normally only deals with trade clients, so contact your favorite repair shop and have them send the horn to him

Re: Best source for brush lacquer???

gord-o, actually I've talked to a few people at Anderson's and they can do it. Not a bad price either, actually. I had been thinking of stripping a horn from a 'shotblast' silver and going with brushed lacquer, but I'm probably going to be trading it soon.

Pettifor in Indiana does a great job. He did a Schilke for me ... loved that horn.
