Horns Discuss Buescher Super Aristocrat (blue bell-Markings) in the Equipment forums; Fabulous and easy-playing trumpet. Who has one? & which modern horn do you think might play even better than it?...

So few people play these horns that I'm not surprised.

I am quite sure that it will play better with a Monette bell on it (try it just for fun of course).

Why not just buy a used Monette? I suspect a Monette bell will cost about $2K.......a bit too expensive to just fool around with.......

..aditionally, Monettes are fabulous trumpets for certain things...the Super Aristocrat is in my opinion, more of a "traditional Horn" that matches perfectly in a big band horn section & can also be a "jazz soloist" horn......Chet Baker sounded great on it.....couldn't picture him playing a Monette......

He spent too much on drugs to save something towards a monette...

I know a player that has one that needs new valve guides to quiet it down. He won't do it. Instead, his go to horn is a Yamaha 2335 with a stuck slide (seriously). It is a very good horn in it's own right and very much better than the 2335. But he's too cheap to even pay to get his slide unstuck. Maybe it's the million dollar house payments??

Maybe true, but many of us WISH we could play like he did........no high notes or flashy technique, but, man could he make a masterpiece of a simple tune......
