Bundy?

I notice that there are student trumpets being sold under the Bundy name:

Bundy Products at Woodwind & Brasswind - Page 1

Presumably these are just the same as the ones sold onder the Bach name.
I can remember when the TR200 and TR300 were sold as Bundy's and then the name on them was changed.

Does anyone know what the story is?

Re: Bundy?

The cheaper Bachs are made in China as well, so I wonder what the difference is between those and the Bundys?

Re: Bundy?

I wonder how many horns are built in the same factory in China with different name brands stamped on the bell, I have just purchased a Solo brand flugel horn 3 years warranty that are based on the Yamaha model but have seen many other brands that resemble the same, It plays well and has a good sound at the moment and at any rate its just something to play with when I get bored with my trumpet.
cheers Chenzo

Re: Bundy?

There is a thread " Conn-Selmer website-what's up?" on pg 2 of the "horns" thread on Trumpetherald that discusses this and that I posted on. Apparently a tangled web of Asian intrique Whether or not Conn-Selmer has any connection, who knows, but they must have had proprietary rights to the Bundy name? Conn-Selmer apparently have made some changes to their lineup and manufacturing according to one poster on the TH thread.

Re: Bundy?

I used a Bundy for awhile in junior and senior high (as marching horn). I've been thinking of either turning it into a lamp or the fake natural trumpet that the directions to make it are on the trumpet gearhead site.

Re: Bundy?

That Bundy BTR-300 doesn't look like the Bach TR300. The TR300 leadpipe is shorter.
