![]() | Care of Monette Trumpets Manny, Can you summarize what you do to maintain your Monette trumpets? I'm particularly interested in the raw brass horns. Does Dave recommend anything for cleaning or treating the raw brass, or just leave it alone? Thanks, Greg |

![]() | I don't do anything other than snake and rinse and lubricate where appropriate. No soap, either. That's just me, though. I don't know what others do. I don't buff or polish either. My quirk is the funkier a horn looks that more I try to make the sound beautiful. I think I got that from Vacchiano who had the oddest, nastiest-looking horns I've ever seen at times. Not always but at times. Keeping the receiver clean is an absolute must! ML |
