Comparison between Yamaha Chicago and NewYork Artist Models.

Hi guys!!

I'm interested in your opinions about the comparison between the two new Yamaha C Artist models (New York and Chicago).

The specs are so similar, and the only difference seems to be in the leadpipe's construction (MC2 against the MC1)..!

What's your opinion, and have anyone tried both these instruments??

Thanks. Beppe

PS: I'm also interested in knowing only the differences between malone MC1 and MC2 leadpipes, if anyone of you have tried these pieces...

Here's what I don't understand - John Hagstrom seems to have been the main orchestral player working with Bob Malone on the development of the 9445CHS...so since the Yamaha website refers to the 9445NYS as being developed with Bob Sullivan and Bob Malone (I think it does), wouldn't one assume that there are more differences between the NY and Chicago models than just the leadpipe? Help?

It's correct... but read the specs on yamaha website, and also watch the pictures... these trumpets seem almost identical!!

This is the reason of my question!!

Thankx. Beppe

PS: I think that when the matter is to buy a new trumpet and to spend a lot of money... suppositions and hypothesis aren't enough...

(sorry about my english)

The MC2 is more open than the MC1.
The MC1 has more focus and plays darker than the MC2.

Also, the Chicago horn has an unusual placement for one of the braces -- makes the horn look a little awkward to me, but there must be some acoustical reason for it.
