| Curio Greetings, Came across this in a pawn shop (see attachments). Am told it is a pocket cornet. It plays "OK" and seems to very well constructed. It sure is fun to play. The odd thing is, there are no markings on it. No brand name, no serial number no nuttin'... Other than novelty value, does it have any practical application? Am interested to receive comments and opinoins from the more experienced. Best regards, Nomojo |

| Piano User | Re: Curio Very interesting! It is a pocket cornet, but unusual not to have any markings. Either a new knock off of decent quality by our third world friends or one very old in exceptional condition, with period type case. I am not an expert on these things but I would recommend going to a new pocket cornet site, Pocket Cornets Home that has a lot of info and pictures and you could contact them for an opinion. I'm sure others will respond on this one. We had an interesting discussion on what turned out to be a Conn Parlor pocket recently. This may be the one on this website, don't know. This subject would probably work better in the horn thread. Welcome to the forum People use these for carrying on trips, use in car, office, etc. One guy at my U marching band reunion game was using one to march with. | Re: Curio Sorry, David; you are wrong about the pictured pocket TRUMPET. Please note the cornet to trumpet adaptor. The horn was made to accept a trumpet mouthpiece. OLDLOU>> |

| Re: Curio Would be willing to bet it is an Indian or Pakistani knock off/out. I got one almost identical off ebay that was made in India. Similar mouthpiece, similar case. Hope you didn't pay over $50 for it. |
