Difference between 24k gold bead blasted and regular lacquer bead blasted finish Hi all. I am new to the forum and not sure if this question was asked previously. I interested in buying and getzen genesis but I am not sure whether I want the regular lacquer or the 24k gold bead blasted finish. Can anyone tell me the difference, other than the look, between the two finishes? Thanks a lot! Vinny Last edited by Trumpet_Teacher_276 : 05-18-2007 at 12:08 PM.

Re: Difference between 24k gold bead blasted and regular lacquer bead blasted finish Welcome to Trumpet Master Vinny! Sorry I've no 1st hand experience playing the Genesis, but I wanted to say "welcome." I'm sure there's some who'll chime in though. All the Best, Richard Oliver

Re: Difference between 24k gold bead blasted and regular lacquer bead blasted finish Vinny: Welcome. The topic is discussed a lot. Many folks and makers say that a lacquer gives your horn a bit "warmer" sound--not as brilliant as, say, silverplate. They also say that usually, gold remains a neutral effect on the tone. Others say there is no difference at all. Probably the best advise is for YOU to try them both (if possible), weigh all considerations, the YOU make your personal choice.
