Early Elkhart Back Serial NO. 303

I have an elkhart back aniversery model. IT has a 37 bell and the serial no. is 303. It is silver with engraving on the bell and has a gold inner bell and gold valve caps and bottom caps. I was wondering if anyone knew about when this trumpet would be from and about how much its worth. I think it also has a MT. vernot lead pipe. I dont want to have it replated but the plating is wearing down to the brass slightly in one spot on the 1st valve where I place my thumb. Is there anyway I can not totally replate my horn or replate it with out changing the sound or the way it plays?? thanks.
