Hope this topic header isn't illegal or anything, but I need help. Yes, my humble apologies for nagging and nagging and nagging about my current B&S hornm but now I'm considering buying another horn rather than fixing what I have up.

I've been looking on ebay at the Getzen trumpets up for sale: Bids starting at $150 for an Eterna 2. Is this really possible? I've never used ebay and live as far as anyone possibly could from the US. You think it would be wise for me to buy from ebay?

I've heard that some of the items can be scams and all that. Just a lot of overall concern about using ebay. Also most sellers only ship to US, how on earth would I get the horn here.

This is the horn I'm looking at: Getzen Eterna2 Trumpet - (eBay item 120187132986 end time Dec-01-07 12:30:29 PST)

Any advise?

Ebay can be a great resource, especially for those who do not have access to a wide variety of items to choose from locally.

However, one must be cautious when buying off ebay.

The particular auction you are looking at may very well be fine, but what catches my eye is the fact that it is a new user to ebay with no feed back to give potential buyers an idea of the sellers integrity.

The one time that I got burned on ebay was on an auction where the seller had only 1 or 2 in feedback and had not been a member of ebay for very long.

Long post short, if you can afford to lose the money, take a chance on the auction because you might get it cheap. If you can not afford to lose the money, wait and perhaps pay a little more and get something from someone with an established reputation on ebay.

Yes, the feedback is the most important thing to read regarding an ebay purchase.

As the others mentioned before, any new Ebayer is an unknown risk.
Especially when you are buying from outside of the country in which the auction originates from.

One other note, just because an auction is currently sitting at a low amount doesn't mean it will stay there. Keep your cool and remember that most auctions will see a flurry of bids in the final moments. What's low for now, will probably change later.

Can I have you guys check out another horn for me on ebay? It's a Getzen Eterna Sewverinsen. Would this horn be classed as a vintage horn? How much would you pay for this horn if money weren't too much of an issue?

The seller also has a good reputation I see. And he'll deliver to South Africa for 64Euro. I'm willing to pay about $300 for it.
