![]() ![]() | ECLIPSE MS does the BASIE BAND! The Count Basie Band played a great dance at Michigan State University Thursday evening. Mike Williams asked me to bring the Eclipse Solar Bell to the gig. If you have not experienced this band band live, it is something you should do. It was a dance setting where you could walk right up to the bandstand. By the end of the evening it was reminiscent of the old big band days with people all standing around the bandstand listening. The power of this band is unbelievable. Three of the trumpeters played the Eclipse Solar Bell trumpet. All gave it good marks and want to try all of the horns when I get them. I will show them more horns aftyer the first of the new year. Here are some pictures of the trumpet section playing the Eclipse Medium Solar Bell... Endre Rice out front ![]() Endre again ![]() Shawn Edmonds ![]() Lead player, Mike Williams ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The Eclipse really sounded great in this setting. What a fantastic trumpet. The pictures are not an endorsment of the trumpet by these players...yet. Mike Williams is currently a Calicchio artist. -cw-

![]() | Endre is a buddy from Chicago, and Shawn Edmonds was a graduate of the Merit School of Music in about 1985, then went on to Eastman. He sat in with my kids a few years back at the annual New Trier jazz fest. That is a terrific band, they sound like a big old Cadillac.
